Michael D. Maguire

Founder, President & Chief Technical Officer

Michael is a prolific medical device inventor and former U.S. Air Force medic/respiratory therapist with deep technical and clinical knowledge of the trauma, critical care and resuscitation space. He began working as an ambulance EMT in Vermont at the age of 16 and has long dedicated himself to the science of improving patient outcomes in the cardiopulmonary field.

Peter J. Cullum

Chief Executive Officer

Peter is a social impact investor and serial entrepreneur who co-founded a successful intellectual property management and advisory firm. He first engaged with AirMid as a seed investor and was recruited to lead the enterprise due to his background in capital acquisition, business development and executive management. He is leading the executive team through the company’s due diligence preparation, capital acquisition, product development and recruitment phases.

Michael Peck, MD, MS

Chief Medical Officer

Dr Peck is a recently retired anesthesiologist from the Johns Hopkins Health Network, and has provided advice to multiple medical startups. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Neuroanesthesia at George Washington University. Dr Peck provides valuable domain expertise while serving as AirMid’s Chief Medical Officer and is also guiding the team in its interface with major clinical stakeholders.

Paul Fearis, MSc, MDes, RCA, DIC, FRSA

Vice President, Product Design

Paul brings more than 30 years of experience in biomedical engineering, industrial design, and product development, both as a commercial entrepreneur, as well as in an academic capacity. He is currently on the faculty at Duke University. He provides sector and strategic advice as well as oversight of the development of the company’s technologies.

Vice President, Quality Assurance & Technical Program Management

Kristy Fearis, BS, MS, CMQ/OE

Kristy has over 25 years of Quality Management Systems experience in the medical device industry. She gained her experience working in senior level roles at companies including Kimberly Clark, Medtronic Cardiovascular and Edwards Lifesciences. Kristy will manage all device development programs and implement an internal ISO 13485-compliant Quality Management System for the company.

Jonathan Sackier, MB ChB, DSc (hon), FRCS, FACS

Director, AirMid Critical Care Products (UK)

Dr Sackier is an experienced executive, physician, entrepreneur and inventor. He helped pioneer the laparoscopic surgery revolution and is the founding partner of several successful start-ups. He is recognized as an industry leader bringing innovative products from “bench to bedside,” such as AESOP, the world’s first operating room robot with Computer Motion.
